Internet Privacy Policy

Thank you for visiting the Austin Telco Federal Credit Union web site and reviewing our internet privacy policy.

 Information Collected and Stored Automatically

For site security purposes and to ensure that this service remains available to all users, ATFCU employs software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage.

For site management, information may be collected for statistical purposes. Computer software programs may be used to create summary statistics, which could be used for such purposes as assessing what information is of most and least interest, determining technical design specifications, and identifying system performance or problem areas. No personal information, such as your name or address, is collected or used for this analysis. We collect no information which would identify you personally.

We automatically collect and store only the following information about your visit:

- The Internet domain (for example, "xcompany.com" if you use a private Internet access account, or "yourschool.edu" if you connect from a university's domain) and IP address (an IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are surfing the Web) from which you access our web site

- The date and time you access our site

- The pages you visit and the result of the request, such as an image or query

- Other status codes and values resulting from the Web server responding to the request received: HTTP status code, Windows NT code, number of bytes sent, number of bytes received, duration (in seconds) to fulfill the request, server port number addressed, and protocol version.

“Cookiesâ€

Cookies are a very useful tool in maintaining state variables on the Web. Since HTTP is a "stateless" (non-persistent) protocol, it is impossible to differentiate between visits to a web site or page, and keep track of security codes and operations performed and being performed, unless the server can somehow "mark" a visitor. This is done by storing a piece of information in the visitor's browser with "cookies". Cookies can store database information, custom page settings, security clearance information, requests being worked on, or just about anything that would make a site interactive and customizable. MemberConnect, (24-hour access to your ATFCU accounts from your personal computer), must use cookies in order to perform its complex security and database operations. An Internet application like MemberConnect would not be possible without cookie technology.

Some cookies have expiration dates. When a cookie expires, your browser will simply erase it from your hard drive. Depending on where it came from, a cookie may expire tomorrow, next week, or next year. Cookies with an expiration date are generally known as "persistent cookies," meaning they stick around for a while. A cookie that doesn't contain an expiration date will only last as long as your browser stays open. These are called "session cookies." When you close your browser, all session cookies silently disappear. MemberConnect tends to use session cookies.

Information Collected from E-mails and Web Forms

When you send us personally identifying information, for example, in an electronic mail message containing a question or comment or by filling out a form that E-mails us this information, we use this information to fulfill or respond to your requests. We may store these requests to provide us with information for future improvements to our Web site. We may forward your E-mail to other ATFCU employees who are better able to respond to your request. ATFCU may also use this information to help us do our work. We do not create individual profiles with the information you provide.

Children

ATFCU does not knowingly market to children and does not knowingly acquire information from children.

To Further Protect Your Privacy

While exploring the services offered through ATFCU’s web site, please be aware that other online retailers, partners, third party Internet sites, and third party services accessible through ATFCU’s web site have separate privacy and data collection policies and practices, which are independent of and may be different from ATFCU’s policies and practices.
